Project Overview

Hospitality interiors demand the same finish in every room, on every floor.

A four-storey Quality Inn in Prescott, Ontario, built new from the ground up. Guest floors with rated corridor walls and repeating room partitions, a lobby and breakfast room with drywall bulkheads, a pool room with a coffered ceiling, and back-of-house laundry and service rooms under T-bar.

True Drywall Contracting carried the interior wall and ceiling scope as the drywall and steel stud subcontractor. Our crews were on the project from the framing stage through boarding, taping and ceilings to the finished guest corridors. The photographs on this page follow that sequence.

Scope of Work

What the drywall scope covered.

Interior steel stud partitions Room partitions, corridor walls and service rooms framed to layout across four guest floors.
Corridor walls Rated corridor separations on each guest floor, boarded and taped for the wallcovering and paint trades.
Drywall boarding Walls and ceilings boarded after mechanical, electrical and sprinkler rough-ins were inspected.
Taping and finishing Taped and sanded to the specified level, with lobby, breakfast room and pool surfaces finished for paint under bright, glazed conditions.
Bulkheads and coffered ceilings Drywall bulkheads in the lobby and lounge, and a coffered ceiling over the pool.
T-bar ceilings Suspended grid and tile in guest corridors, laundry and back-of-house, coordinated with lighting and sprinkler heads.
Sequencing Floor-by-floor progression inside the general contractor's schedule, with the crew scaled to the boarding and taping phases.
Handover Walls and ceilings turned over ready for wallcovering, paint, flooring and millwork.
